Popular contest features $10,000 or more in weekly jackpots and a “Beat Jimmy Bonus Contest”

The Lucky’s Progressive Carryover Football Contest, which paid out jackpots of $44,000 and $36,000 last year, is back for the upcoming Pro Football season.

The object of the popular Progressive Carryover Contest remains the same: pick every weekly pro football game winner without the point spread and win or share in the weekly jackpot. There is a $5 fee per entry, per week and players may purchase an unlimited amount of entries each week. No advance sign-up is required to play.

The weekly jackpot starts at $10,000. If there are no players correctly selecting all 16 games or propositions correctly, the $10,000, plus 70% of the week’s entry fees, will carry over to the following week’s contest.

Last year, Lucky’s had a contest jackpot winner of $44,465 in Las Vegas and a $36,880 winner in Pahrump.

An additional feature of the contest is the “Beat Jimmy Bonus Contest.” A winner of the jackpot gets to pick five games in head-to-head contest against legendary bookmaker Jimmy Vaccaro for a $1,000 prize. Vaccaro’s five picks for the contest will be posted at all Lucky’s Race & Sports at www.betatluckys.com on Thursdays.

The pink contest selection cards for the first week of the Pro Football season will be available Wednesday, August 31 for games on Sunday, September 11. The final games of the contest will be played on Sunday, January 1, 2011.
