Get set for a wild ride this season!

Give me the Dodgers with the Colts and throw in Pitt because I think that number is coming down by game time.

Can you handle it all? Because it is here and will be for a long, long time.

Everybody knows that the books basically have to put up just as much as they can because that is what the industry has come to. And when posting all of these games there are some games that might be priced out of line a little and does give the consumer a slight edge.

Now the mistakes are not as many as you might realize, but games actually wind up with us basically laying you 11-10.

But the price you have to pay to do business gets easier for us because "human nature" will usually get you if you are not careful.

Be honest with yourself and put your hand up if you made one more bet than you should have with all this "controlled insanity."

Now there is a very small percentage of people who have the money, resources, outs and understanding to spread out. You do not, which puts a huge barrier for you to get over.

Play when you are ready. In most cases you are playing from behind when you get to the window.

Don’t be looking for a bet number while you’re in line to tack another team on to make it a parlay. There is a lot going on and it will only get crazier as each week passes.

Eat slowly and maybe you won’t choke.

The week in review … According to Lucky’s Sports Books openers for the first week, favorites were 10-5 with the Jets and Giants yet to be played.

Not to many surprises but have someone tell Brian Blessing and Richard Saber that the Bills and Steelers definitely won’t make the playoffs.

I guess I shouldn’t count that as a prediction for the Bills but the Steelers are in trouble.

As I said last week, advice comes cheap and for the two I have just mentioned going south, the Redskins and the Buccaneers will be in the post season.

Oh by the way if you want to stretch your parlay out, put North Carolina to beat LSU on Sept. 4.

Next week we’ll take a look at the upcoming contests that are part of the football season.

Take care,
Jimmy V.
