Green Bay Packers prop packs punch

by Jimmy Vaccaro (Twitter @JimmyVaccaro)

In the new era of sports books, you post up some props that do several things:

• Draw attention to your brand.

• Get a fair amount of money and ticket transactions.

• Hope you can use it for an extended period of time.

Bingo! Will the packers go undefeated: yes or no? At Lucky’s and other books around town this prop fit all criteria. I put this one up a ways back and opened NO -800 and YES +600 they would go undefeated in the regular season.

In these props the pluses are always tilted down because the recreational guys like to bet on something that is hard to achieve but can carry in their pocket week to week and still be alive. That said, I have Green Bay a favorite to get there.

Two reasons. The schedule plays out perfect as the "frozen tundra guys" play 3 of the last 4 at home. A bruised Oakland bunch head there this week followed by a trip to Arrowhead and KC. Last two are the Bears and Lions in Green Bay.

Bears are without Cutler and Forte plus the demeanor of a lost Lions bunch gives the Packers a great chance of getting there. In today’s crazed media world the public and most likely the Packers fans want this done if possible.

Yes, I know of all the talk off benching your valuable starters in protecting from injury plays into it but we live in a different time. The coach will say all the right things and the players will want to play but it unfolds right into the lap of the Packers.

Winning any game in the NFL alone is tough. Four more victories is tougher, but I wouldn’t step onto the tracks right here. As said earlier, the prop has been time tested. If you made a bet and still live, it’s always a good thing.

Take care,
Jimmy V.
