Contest features at least $10,000 in weekly jackpots and a “Beat Jimmy Bonus Contest”
The Lucky’s Progressive Carryover Contest, named “Best of Las Vegas” each of the last two years, is back and bigger for the 2010-2011 Pro Football season with at least $10,000 in weekly jackpots.
The object of the popular Progressive Carryover Contest remains the same: pick every weekly pro football game winner without the point spread and win or share in the weekly jackpot. There is a $5 fee per entry and players may purchase an unlimited amount of entries each week.
Instead of starting at $6,000, as it did each of the past two years, the weekly jackpot starts at $10,000 this year. If there are no players correctly selecting all 16 games or propositions correctly, the $10,000, plus 70% of the week’s entry fees, will carry over to the following week.
A new feature of the contest this year is the “Beat Jimmy Bonus Contest.” A winner of the jackpot, or a consolation winner, gets to go on the radio and pick seven games in head-to-head contest against legendary bookmaker Jimmy Vaccaro for a $1,000 prize. Vaccaro’s seven picks for the contest will be posted at all Lucky’s Race & Sports Books on Thursdays.
There is also a 10% consolation prize for a player that has a perfect record going into the last Monday night game, but does not win the game.
The contest kicks off with the first pro football games of the season on Sunday, September 12. The final games of the contest will be played on Sunday, January 2, 2011.
